A kitchen more so than ever is the focal point of so many people's homes, it is where they entertain, sit and enjoy food as a family or socialise with friends. A kitchen is the main room of most people's homes and more usually open plan into a living or family room area too!

With red being Meller Braggins main brand colours we have looked at colour themes and this week with Valentines ahead of us we wanted to see what 'red' themes there are and we were really surprised to find red kitchens!
The definition of red for a home especially in a kitchen is a stimulating colour that can raise one's blood pressure and increase a persons appetite, red is a great choice for an accent colour in the kitchen. For those who want to go big and bold, it can be used in larger amounts calling attention to cabinets, walls or appliances or just a worktop.
Like all dominant colours there’s a whole spectrum of different depths and tones of red. It’s not all about attention-grabbing pillar box reds. Finding the right shade is vitally important, to consider how red will work with the rest of your scheme. Consider whether cooler (bluer) or warmer (more orange) tones will work in your space and with the amount of light you have.
