Cheshire’s Boutique Auction House Sells With Certainty

As an innovative and pioneering auction platform for Cheshire, Meller Braggins is proud to serve the local community in the buying and selling of property.

Auction has grown in popularity across the UK, with homebuyers and investors competing for exciting lots including residential homes, commercial properties and development plots.

Our most recent online property auction was held on 26th March - 27th March 2025, consisting of three unique lots.

All three of these properties sold, generating excellent returns for our grateful clients and further highlighting the growing population of property auctions in Cheshire.

Lot 1 - 45 High Street, Bollington

High Street, Bollington

This pretty, one-bedroom apartment located in the heart of the charming village of Bollington attracted a great level of interest from both property investors and downsizers looking to settle in the local area.

Given its highly advantageous location, the property held excellent potential as a buy-to-let investment, Airbnb property or a comfortable home for the right buyer.

The owner was keen to achieve a no-nonsense sale within a short timeframe, so they turned to us as a trusted auction house to take the property to market.

The apartment performed well on the day of the action, achieving the rapid sale that the vendor was looking for.

This was hardly surprising, as Bollington is a highly popular location. The town offers good potential for buy-to-let properties due to its proximity to Manchester, local amenities, and scenic surroundings. It's popular with professionals and families, making it a solid choice for rental demand, but prices can be higher compared to nearby areas.

Lot 2 - 7 Woodside, Knutsford

Woodside, Knutsford

This property was sold due to probate. The executors lived in Bristol and chose auction as it was a surefire way of selling the property with as little hassle as possible whilst achieving the highest sale price.

As a trusted auction seller offering a fully bespoke service, Meller Braggins can provide a boutique service that sellers won’t find anywhere else.

During the sale of Woodside, we arranged for the clearance of the property as well as the sale of some of the antique items - greatly reducing the strain of the sale on the executors during a difficult time.

The property sold for a strong figure and will be refurbished and extended to create a lovely four-bedroom family home within walking distance of the centre of Knutsford.

Why Knutsford Properties Perform So Well at Auction

Knutsford, Cheshire, is a charming town with a lot to offer families. Well known for its narrow streets and many interesting and historic listed buildings, the town is highly regarded by buyers of all ages.

The town is well-known for its family-friendly environment, with a selection of highly rated primary and secondary schools, both state-run and private.

It also boasts a strong sense of community, hosting many local events catering to families, such as festivals and markets.

Knutsford also benefits from beautiful green spaces and is surrounded by rolling, scenic countryside. However, its charming rural location does not mean that a more metropolitan lifestyle is far away.

The town has fantastic links and is well-connected by road to Manchester, Liverpool and Chester. There is also a train station offering easy access to Manchester, making Knutsford the ideal place for families to live and work.

Lot 3 - Land on Mill Lane, Lower Peover

Land on Mill Lane, Lower Peover, Knutsford

This lot comprised 2.4 acres of grazing land located in the stunning semi-rural village of Lower Peover in Knutsford.

We had we had dealt with the sale of the client's main residence, however, the purchaser did not require this separate parcel of land, so it was decided that an auction would be the most effective selling route.

Pasture and paddock land is highly desirable in this part of Cheshire and on the day of the auction, the lot achieved a sale price of more than £40,000 per acre!

The appeal of Paddock land in Cheshire is due to its picturesque countryside, proximity to major cities like Manchester and Liverpool, and its appeal to both equestrian enthusiasts and those seeking a rural lifestyle.

Cheshire offers a mix of tranquil landscapes, historic towns, and strong transport links, making it an attractive option for those looking for a retreat or space for outdoor activities.

The county's reputation for quality farming land, and its access to amenities, has led to a steady demand for paddock land. Moreover, the area's growth in popularity with affluent buyers further enhances its desirability.

This demand has resulted in higher property values, making paddock land a sound investment in the region. However, availability can be limited, driving competition among potential buyers.
